As long as you have 18 months of experience working professionally in your field, whether as a teacher, therapist, instructor, practitioner, coach, nurse or medical professional, facilitator, community leader, or someone who manages a healing space.

We do also require that you have participated in one-to-one individual therapy or personal development of some form in order to be accepted into the program, because of the nature of the content.

  • This training has been thoroughly assessed by an independent self-regulating body with The International Association of Coaches, Therapists & Mentors (IACTM) who have awarded us their Stamp of Approval and give accreditation to ethical and authentic professionals in the fields of coaching, therapy, mentoring and training.

  • Yes. We select our venues based on their accessibility, all with ground level facilities and disabled toilets. Where possible we ensure accommodation options also meet with special needs, but this is not always possible and is location dependent. Our team will work to assist you with travel and any specific needs, information on local transport is also provided in the Welcome Pack that you receive after booking. Feel free to contact us regarding your unique needs.

  • Firstly, we require that you have been in your professional field for a minimum of 18 months.

And, that you have previously engaged in one-on-one therapy, or personal development, in order to ensure that we create a field of competency and self-regulation, to nurture and sustain optimal learning for all.

You must also complete the required reading of Waking the Tiger, by Peter Levine, prior to attending the training.

  • You will be required to complete a Medical Declaration prior to the commencement of the Training.

The declaration will confirm that you are in good health and there are no medical reasons (psychiatric problems, emotional instability, or physical ailments) that would make it unsafe for you to partake in the Trauma Awareness Training.

We reserve the right to cancel a Booking, without compensation, if you fail to complete and return the Medical Declaration prior to the Training, or you fail to provide us with essential information about the condition of your physical, mental and emotional health.

  • We understand fully that consent is a dynamic experience for all, and that those with a relational trauma history - particularly involving physical, sexual, or mental abuse - will struggle to give authentic verbal consent due to the likelihood they will slip into a fawn/freeze state and be unable to voice their true needs. Consequently, we operate within group agreements that give clarity to any exercise involving touch.

We apply the Wheel of Consent and explore the dynamics of shut-down/freeze, and the challenges of safe touch for students and clients in being able to communicate needs and provide several non-verbal techniques for doing this, which we also use throughout.

  • We invite participation by every body, of any age, class, faith, religion, ability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or nationality.

Our goal is unity. Connection over isolation. Collaboration instead of competition.

Trauma-Informed practitioners and coaches have typically completed hundreds of hours of training and supervised practice hours.

This introductory program is designed to teach you the basics, and give you a new lens and skillset to use in all areas of your work.

We do encourage you to prefix your professional status with the term Trauma Aware, for example: Trauma Aware Yoga Teacher, Trauma Aware Fitness Instructor, Trauma Aware Doula, Trauma Aware Somatic Coach.

  • Yes. If you complete the training in full, you will receive a graduation certificate.

You will be given a workbook to use for the duration of the program and will receive the manual in digital form upon completion of the training.

We prefer to invite students to take notes during the classes to increase retention and keep you engaged with the content as it is presented.

  • We have a very thorough selection process. From the minute we receive your application (Mon - Fri) our lead team will evaluate your application and respond within 5 working days.

Either you will receive an acceptance email, or a request for a Zoom interview. The latter is in the cases where we are unsure about something or require more information regarding something you have shared to ensure that we can safely accept you.

We cannot accept all participants, as diving deeply into this topic can be too triggering or destabilizing for those who need to do some personal recovery work first.

In the instance that we decline your application, we encourage you to join us at a later date, either when you have been able to process more of your personal traumas or stabilise other aspects of life: health, finances, groundedness, and resources.

  • You must complete the training in full to graduate. If you are sick or have an emergency, we can accommodate providing you with one-to-one guidance or video classes to ensure you receive the full training.

If you miss more than one full day, we would invite you to repeat the training, and pay only the daily fee associated with the venue and meals.

  • Our requirement, if you are traveling from overseas to attend, is for you to have valid health/travel insurance for the duration of the program.

This is to ensure that if you experience an accident, ill health, or injury, you are covered both financially and practically.

Should you need medical attention, or hospitalisation and require treatment, your insurance will cover the costs, and subsequently you will get the care you require, ensuring that our team can focus on delivering the training, while also holding your hand!

  • Each training is different, depending on the location and venue.

To find the options available to you, simply click on the destination you wish to attend and you will find all the information, as well as any pricing variations according to what is provided.
